The Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of State (Sport), today announced that the Government of Canada will invest $25 million in Canada's trail infrastructure as part of the Government of Canada’s Economic Action Plan.

Over the past couple of weeks, the National Trails Coalition executive committee has prepared a draft implementation plan and the elements of a program administration model to implement the $25 million funding commitment for creating, upgrading and sustaining trails.

Information Notice To National Trails Coalition Stakeholders

The 2009-2010 Federal Budget was passed in Parliament on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, thereby confirming the commitment by the Government of Canada to make a $25 million contribution to a national trail infrastructure program. The program is for a one-year period commencing on April 1st, 2009.
