MMIC and COHV Annual Industry Report for 2009
Toronto, Ontario -- Retail sales data collected from its member companies on a monthly basis allows the Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council (MMIC) and the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council (COHV), to produce and post on its website, an annual industry statistics report. This report reflects retail sales generated between the months of January 1st, 2009 through December 31st, 2009. |

COHV -- Everything Is Lining Up For a Stellar OHV Season
Looking back, last year’s first quarter was pretty shaky. Not a surprise, with the economic downturn, industry saw motorcycle, scooter & ATV sales drop as much as minus -56%. The good news, 2009 fourth quarter sales saw numbers holding stable at around the minus -27% mark. |

2010 Industry Outlook
The light at the end of the tunnel isn’t a mirage: things really may be on the up and up for the Canadian powersport industry, especially if federal and provincial initiatives from industry advocates and the Canadian Powersport Dealers’ Association make headway in the year to come. And considering where the country just came from economically, it’s safe to say the only way to go from here is up.
